About EV Pick

EV Pick helps Australians who are thinking about buying an electric car work out what it will really cost to run and own, before they buy. It's run by an independent Australian publisher.

What we do

We cover 39 of Australia's most popular electric cars, from brands including Tesla, BYD, Kia, Hyundai, Polestar, Volvo, Volkswagen, Skoda, Mazda, Geely, MG and Zeekr, plus the best-selling hybrids and plug-in hybrids. For each car we show charging costs in every state, servicing and tyre costs, total cost to own, and how it compares with other models and with your petrol car.

Where the numbers come from

Electricity prices are the 2026–27 regulated or default rates set by Australian energy regulators. Car specs, prices and servicing costs come from manufacturers, as published by trusted motoring sites. Where a figure is an estimate, we say so on the page. Every calculation is explained under "How we work it out" on each page.

Independent

We are not owned by, paid by or affiliated with any car maker, dealer or energy company. The site is funded by advertising, and advertisers have no say over what we publish or how cars are ranked.

Keeping it up to date

Car prices and electricity rates change. We review the figures regularly and show the date of the last update at the bottom of every page. If you spot something wrong, please let us know.
